Winning Gold in the Enterprise Solution category, Compugen-s datacentre rebuild for a multinational at its western Canadian facility involved upgrading the server and power infrastructure with and expanding the use of virtualization with software to reduce the total number of servers from 300 to 100 and reduce power consumption by 50% while improving reliability. Working with , Compugen also improved power supply reliability, datacentre cooling, and facility security.
Winning Silver in the Mid-Market category, Compugen-s desktop virtualization solution permitted a Western-Canadian college to host hundreds of concurrent virtual desktop sessions via wired LAN, campus Wi-Fi and remote connection through the Internet. Using the integrated computing platform, advanced Cisco wired and wireless switching and routing technology with a new SAN, Compugen was able to reduce bottlenecks caused by slow SAN performance and to provision a resilient datacentre optimized for hosting the virtual desktop infrastructure into the foreseeable future.
