The Linux Foundation Announces Individual Membership Drive

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwire) — 10/01/12 — The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, today announced a new individual membership drive and promotion that offers a 50 percent discount for LinuxCon Europe 2012 registration when individuals sign up for membership during the month of October.

From Oct. 1-31, 2012, new individual members of The Linux Foundation will receive a 50 percent discount off of 2012 and 2012 taking place November 5-7. This is a $225 value, which pays for the $99 individual membership two times over.

Individual members of The Linux Foundation help support the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and other important activities that protect and advance Linux. It is the collective support from thousands of individual members that helps The Linux Foundation provide important services for the industry and community.

Members also receive a variety of exclusive benefits, including a Linux.com email address (e.g. ); employee purchase pricing from Dell, HP and Lenovo; 35 percent off O-Reilly books and e-books; and a variety of other discounts to attend events, subscribe to industry publications, and to shop at the Linux.com Store.
