Infinera Features DTN-X 100G Platform at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwire) — 10/10/12 — Infinera (NASDAQ: INFN), a leading provider of digital optical communications systems, will feature the Infinera DTN-X, the industry-s first multi-terabit packet-optical transport platform, at this year-s SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.

SCTE Cable-Tec Expo will be held next week, October 17-19th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Infinera will feature live demonstrations of the Infinera DTN-X platform on the Infinera Express truck located at booth #2917.

The Infinera DTN-X, now being deployed worldwide, is the first to deliver 500 Gb/s super-channels based on Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) and the FlexCoherent Processor, scaling transport capacity without scaling operational complexity. Infinera-s PICs combine multiple optical subsystems on a single integrated circuit and result in fewer fiber connections, less space, and less power when compared to conventional systems based upon discrete components. The Infinera DTN-X increases network efficiency with 5 Terabits of integrated OTN switching per bay, resulting in much more efficient utilization of the 100Gb/s waves when compared to conventional WDM architectures that do not allow sub-lambda grooming and switching. Infinera-s Bandwidth Virtualization simplifies service deployment, enabling cable operators to deploy networks in days and services in minutes thereby lowering operational costs.

In the Infinera Express truck on the show floor, Infinera will also showcase the Infinera DTN, a metro and long haul DWDM Digital ROADM offering 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet service interfaces to support high-bandwidth applications and DWDM line-card supporting 40 Gb/s per wavelength coherent optical transmission, enabling the DTN platform to scale up to 6.4 Tb/s of transmission capacity per fiber. The Infinera ATN, designed for WDM metro edge applications, will also be featured at the show.

At Cable-Tec Expo-s technical workshops, Infinera-s Gaylord Hart, Director of MSO Market Segment will moderate a panel on Thursday, October 18th at 8:00 am titled “The Kilowatts Are Coming! Act Now or Be Overpowered.” On this panel, presenters, including Infinera-s Thomas Neel, Technical Marketing Manager, will discuss increasing energy efficiencies in cable networks as services expand and network bandwidth requirements continue to double every 12-18 months.

Infinera-s solutions are widely deployed by major U.S. MSOs in national backbone, regional, and metro applications. Infinera currently has DTN-X purchase commitments from cable operators.

Infinera product and technology experts will be available to discuss Infinera-s solutions at the show. To schedule a meeting, contact your Infinera representative or email .
