Linux Foundation Announces Individual Membership Drive: Receive 50 Percent Off of LinuxCon or CloudOpen

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/03/13 — The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, today announced its mid-year individual membership drive and promotion that offers a 50 percent discount for LinuxCon/CloudOpen North America or LinuxCon/CloudOpen Europe registration when individuals sign up for membership during the month of June.

From June 3-30, 2013, new individual members of The Linux Foundation will receive a 50 percent discount off of their choice of LinuxCon/CloudOpen North America or LinuxCon/CloudOpen Europe. With savings worth up to $337, this discount can pay for the $99 membership fee three times over.

Individual members of The Linux Foundation help support the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and other important activities that protect and advance Linux and open source software. It is the collective support from thousands of individual and corporate members that helps The Linux Foundation provide important services for the industry and community.

Members also receive a variety of exclusive benefits, including a Linux.com email address (e.g. ); employee purchase pricing from Dell, HP and Lenovo; 35 percent off O-Reilly books and e-books; and a variety of other discounts to attend events, subscribe to industry publications, and to shop at the Linux.com Store.

Regular registration for the LinuxCon North America/CloudOpen events is $575 through July 28, 2013 and $675 thereafter. Regular registration for LinuxCon Europe is $575 through September 1, 2013 and $675 thereafter.

Only new members who sign up between June 3 and June 30 are eligible for this promotion. This promotion cannot be applied retroactively to memberships that started before June 3, 2013.

The annual membership fee for individuals is $99. Student membership is $25 and includes all the same benefits as individual members. Proof of student status is required to take advantage of this offer.
