Zscaler Positioned as “Leader” in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateways for Third Consecutive Year

SAN JOSE, CA — (Marketwired) — 06/03/13 — Zscaler, the industry-s leading Secure Direct-to-Cloud Network for global advanced security and policy enforcement, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Leaders Quadrant” of the “Gartner Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateways” for the third consecutive year.(1)(2) Zscaler also received the furthest axis position in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for its completeness of vision.

“Zscaler considers our position in the -Leaders- quadrant by Gartner confirmation of our mission to securely enable customers to unlock the productivity benefits of emerging technology trends, such as mobile, cloud applications and social networking,” said Jay Chaudhry, founder and CEO, Zscaler. “Zscaler will continue to innovate and execute on our product roadmap to deliver revolutionary products that challenge the inadequacies of traditional appliance and software solutions to further enhance our market position.”

Traditional network perimeter appliances are not designed for mobile workers or cloud applications. Mobile devices can easily evade these protections and cloud applications can be broken by an “all or nothing” approach to URL filtering. Zscaler has developed and deployed the industry-s only global Security Cloud that easily scales with emerging business needs and protects against advanced threats to securely enable the productivity benefits of cloud computing, mobility and social networking.

The authors of “Magic Quadrant for Secure Web Gateways” note, “cloud services are being driven by the need to protect mobile devices and secure remote office connections.”(3) The “Magic Quadrant” recognition follows the inclusion of Zscaler in the Where Are They Now? section of the “Cool Vendors in Security: Security Services 2013,” which notes, “CISOs and other security decision makers should consider new vendors of cloud-based security services. These vendors bring a unique potential to IT environments that are grappling with a host of security issues.”(4) Zscaler was designated a Cool Vendor in 2009.
