RESTON, VA — (Marketwired) — 06/27/13 — Smartronix announced today it was an award recipient for the Department of Interior-s (DOI) Foundation Cloud Hosting Services multiple ID/IQ contracts. This contract will help DOI with its goal to modernize and consolidate its data centers. Modernizing DOI-s hosting services is a key component of DOI-s broader IT Transformation initiative, which is expected to produce savings each year from 2016 to 2020.
DOI may utilize this ID/IQ multiple award contract to issue competitive task orders for specific cloud hosting and related services as the need arises. The contract also allows requests for quotes/task orders to be issued on behalf of other Government customers, including both civilian agencies and the Department of Defense, by DOI AQD Contracting Officers within the Interior Business Center.
The ID/IQ contracts provide a “DOI Mission Facing” Service Catalog built from a foundational set of Technical Service Lines. The Smartronix Intelligent Cloud Hub (ICH) provides access to Service Catalogs across multiple Cloud Service Providers. Smartronix announced in January that Amazon Web Services (AWS) was the first cloud provider enabled by the ICH and offers a broad range of AWS services through its Foundation Gateway Portal developed exclusively for DOI.
