Amazon Web Services Honors 2nd Watch With New APN Managed Service Provider Competency

SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwired) — 06/28/13 — 2nd Watch, Inc., a global systems integrator, and software and deployment firm focused on IT operations, today announced that it has been awarded a Managed Service Provider competency by Amazon Web Services (AWS). The exclusive honor attests to 2nd Watch-s expertise in managing customer cloud environments on the AWS platform. The company currently manages more than 60,000 AWS instances for organizations nationwide.

2nd Watch earned the competency based on criteria surrounding its managed services capabilities; achieving a premier membership in the AWS Advanced Partner Network (APN), demonstrating technology expertise across AWS platforms, reaching and maintaining monthly AWS managed services business objectives, and providing detailed customer references and public endorsements within the space.

“2nd Watch Managed Services is achieving recognition as a world-class support organization,” said Robi Johnston, Director of Managed Services for 2nd Watch. “We are rapidly expanding our customer base and taking on the challenge of managing cloud services for a wide range of enterprise customers on AWS. It-s exciting to be a part of the APN MSP community, and we look forward to adding to our portfolio and continuing to provide top-notch support to all of our customers.”

2nd Watch Managed Services encompasses three levels of flexible and scalable support offerings to meet enterprise customer needs. At each level, customers have access to proactively-managed cloud environments and expert counsel on infrastructure optimization, such as third-party service negotiation and customized application deployment. Enterprises can adjust their service level with 2nd Watch to best suit business objectives and financial considerations.

“Working with 2nd Watch has been great because they really understand what Amazon Web Services is all about. With their managed services, we can take our minds off of the day to day nuts and bolts and really function at the level of the application and find improvements for business rather than just improvements for technology,” stated Gordy Dhatt, Red Lion Hotels VP of Technology. “Without 2nd Watch-s help, we-d still be struggling to understand what the offer is, much less how to get there.”

The award comes as organizations adopt AWS for cloud computing, relying on its highly reliable, agile, elastic, secure, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform. Organizations embrace AWS to maintain a focus on their core competencies while reducing the burden of managing their applications and IT infrastructure.
