SEH and Cortado Offer Bundle for Instant Access to Secure Pull Printing

Bielefeld and Berlin, Germany (August 28, 2013). – The German network specialist SEH and Cortado, leading vendor of enterprise mobility and print management solutions, announce a joint promotion, the TPR-10 Starter Pack for new Cortado customers. With this starter pack, new customers have everything they need to immediately begin using Cortado’s Personal Printing solution for confidential and cost-efficient printing. Each starter pack contains a twelve month, five user Cortado Personal Printing licence, an SEH ThinPrint Reader TPR-10 for user authentication at the printer, and five smart cards. Customers taking advantage of this new starter pack pay only the price of a ThinPrint Reader TPR-10.

Secure Printing and Saving Costs

Hardware-based authentication solutions are especially important in environments where confidential documents are printed. Personal Printing and the ThinPrint Reader TPR-10 ensure that print outs can only be released and picked up by authorised users at the printer.
In addition to securing confidential documents the introduction of pull printing provides for a significant reduction in printing costs. According to Gartner analysts, the introduction of so-called pull printing or follow me printing solutions in enterprises reduces the use of printing paper by about ten percent. As print jobs are only printed when users release them at the printer in order to collect them, there are no longer any forgotten print outs, leading to an overall reduction of printing costs.
The idea of this bundle promotion grows out of the long-standing technology partnership between Cortado and SEH. After installing the Cortado software on the print server and setting up the users, the ThinPrint Reader TPR-10, which network specialist SEH developed as client component for Personal Printing, is simply attached to the network, making printers immediately Personal Printing-ready.
To receive their print jobs, users authenticate themselves with the contactless swipe of an RFID smart card. This can be done either with one of the five RFID cards included in the starter pack or with smart cards already in use in the enterprise. The integrated TPR-10 ThinPrint client also supports further important security features such as print data encryption.

Bundled Security for the First Step

Common pull printing solutions are usually either printer vendor-dependent or a component of complex IT environments. In contrast, the TPR-10 Starter Pack offers companies the opportunity to introduce such a solution, for example in the accounts, human resources, or research & development departments, the company management or other business areas which require confidential printing, without the barriers of high cost, time and effort. With the TPR-10 Starter Pack, customers receive a complete solution which enables five users to print confidentially with Personal Printing for twelve months. This solution can be easily expanded, by simply adding more user licences, TPR-10s and printers.
The TPR-10 Starter Pack is available for new Cortado customers who, upon purchase of a TPR-10, register for the five year guarantee extension on the SEH website. If the conditions for the starter pack are fulfilled, the new customer will receive a link to download the licence for five users. Additional licences are available at the regular price from Cortado.
