FLIR Systems Announces European Availability of FLIR ONE, the World–s First Thermal Imaging Camera for iPhone

WILSONVILLE, OR and MEER, BELGIUM — (Marketwired) — 09/22/14 — FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that the FLIR ONE thermal imaging accessory for smartphones will be available for order online this week across 27 European countries at FLIR.com and in 18 European countries through . The award-winning FLIR ONE is a lightweight accessory that transforms an iPhone 5 or 5s into a powerful thermal imager. When paired with its iPhone app, FLIR ONE displays live infrared imagery that allows the user to see the world from a thermal perspective.

FLIR ONE detects invisible heat energy, giving consumers the ability to “see” and measure minute variances in temperature. FLIR ONE enables a host of practical solutions for consumers — from detecting energy leaks at home to seeing in complete darkness. For the first time, FLIR ONE brings powerful energy saving and situational awareness capabilities to a smart phone platform. Integrating FLIR–s ground-breaking Lepton® thermal imaging micro-camera core plus a visible camera, the FLIR ONE provides FLIR–s patented MSX® Technology that brings sharp detail to the thermal images.

“After the positive reception received in the United States, we are excited to offer FLIR ONE to European customers,” said Andy Teich, President and CEO of FLIR Systems. “FLIR is committed to providing the world–s sixth sense by bringing thermal imaging to consumers in an affordable, easy to use way.”

FLIR ONE serves a broad range of uses, including:

Identify heat loss, energy inefficiency, and water leaks.

Observe wildlife day or night, survey a campsite, or find a lost pet.

See at night, detect intruders, and see through light fog and smoke.

Observe abstract thermal patterns and create artistic images.

FLIR ONE detects a wide range of temperatures and has a spot temperature measurement display. Users can capture either photos or videos and share them via text, email, or social media through the FLIR ONE app, which is available in the Apple App Store. In addition, a variety of artistic and functional FLIR ONE supporting apps are available in the Apple App store that allow users to take close-up photos, time-lapse video, panoramic photos, and hybrid thermal plus visible-light images.
