UPDATE – Scribe Software Appoints Shawn McGowan as CEO

MANCHESTER, NH — (Marketwired) — 10/27/14 — Data integration company today announced the appointment of 20-year software-industry veteran Shawn McGowan as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the company–s growth and expansion.

“The integration industry is at an inflection point and Scribe is poised for continued market leadership thanks to the hard work and thoughtful innovation of the entire Scribe team,” said Lou Guercia, outgoing CEO of Scribe. “During my tenure, Scribe has created the most advanced integration platform as a service (iPaaS), making enterprise-class data integration easier to create, deploy, manage and monetize for independent software vendors (ISVs), system integrators (SIs) and customers. We believe that a leader with a strong product and market orientation will allow Scribe to further promote the benefits and adoption of this platform. Shawn has been a strategic advisor for a number of years and I am excited that Shawn has agreed to lead Scribe through the next chapter of growth.”

Bringing a powerful combination of technology and leadership experience to Scribe, McGowan previously managed the development and delivery of both traditional and on-demand software products for numerous market leaders. Most recently, McGowan served as the chief operating officer of Newmarket International, Inc., the market leader in hospitality sales and service software, which was recently acquired by Amadeus for $500M. In his long tenure leading the product strategy and delivery as chief technology officer, senior vice president of product development and support, and vice president of product development, he transformed Newmarket International–s technology development platform, built a public cloud solution on Force.com, initiated a new product strategy and expanded its portfolio of hosted applications. Prior to joining Newmarket, he served as an internet architect for ManagedOps.com where he built the infrastructure for their Internet-facing products and managed a variety of applications for e-business, portal and CRM. Earlier in his career, McGowan held senior technology positions at Elderhostel, Inc. and The Taylor Group.

“Scribe is at the forefront of a tremendous market opportunity, and I plan to rapidly scale the company to meet increasing demand for a complete, modern integration platform,” noted McGowan. “Joining at a critical juncture, I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my integration knowledge to further drive the evolution of the award-winning Scribe Online platform in the emerging iPaaS space and build on our deep roots in enterprise, on-premise integration.”

“We are thrilled to have a leader of Shawn–s caliber join Scribe as the CEO,” said Bob Crowley, chairman of Scribe–s board and managing partner of The Mustang Group. “We thank Lou for his leadership of Scribe, which just completed its 20th consecutive quarter of bookings growth and its highest bookings quarter in company history for its cloud platform — driving more than 200 percent SaaS bookings growth. We look forward to Lou–s ongoing support as a strategic board advisor to the company.”
