GlobalSign Debuts New Identity Relationship and Access Management Solutions That Deliver New Business Models for the Extended Enterprise

BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 12/02/14 — GMO GlobalSign (), the security division of Tokyo-based GMO Internet Group (TSE: 9449), and a leading provider of identity services for online transactions, announced a suite of new identity relationship and access management solutions that help enterprises and service providers better manage customer and partner interactions to increase revenue and enhance customers– experiences in today–s extended enterprise. Already proven in demanding consumer-facing corporate and government applications in Scandinavia, GlobalSign–s new solutions are based on technologies developed by Finland-based Ubisecure, which GlobalSign acquired in September 2014, and are now being made available to US and broader European markets for the first time.

GlobalSign–s solutions allow organizations to cut customer care costs by automating identity processes based on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) information, improve convenience with verified social identities and provide strong, multifactor authentication for business critical transactions. GlobalSign solutions make it easy to build and scale self-service portals and also enable tiered delegated administration of external identities. Systems can be quickly implemented using “out of the box” best practices based on typical use cases, and then configured as needed for comprehensive on-premise or in the cloud implementations. This agile environment allows organizations to follow a bimodal IT approach, integrating products that are just what they need today, but that are robust enough to support additional authentication and eService capabilities as future strategies dictate.

Solutions include:

– an easy-to-deploy and highly scalable Web Single Sign-On and access control solution providing extensive authentication for online and web services. Built for a variety of platforms, providing role-based access control, and federation capabilities based on industry standards.

– a highly scalable identity management solution built to minimize the cost of user management through self-service functions and integrations to 3rd party-verified customer data.

– a standards-certified control center for federated identity solutions that transfers identity information across two or more independent domains.

– by using a simple API, applications can call GlobalSign Confirm to perform step-up authentication and transaction confirmation in a user friendly way.

– a program providing training, certification, support and other IAM related resources to customers and partners.

GlobalSign–s IAM technology is already in use by an impressive number of government agencies, financial institutions and enterprises for large scale applications, including telecom service providers that allow their customers to manage their own account features; by the Finnish tax bureau to provide services to millions of citizens and companies; by utility companies to provide legally required usage information to customers; and by insurance organizations, using federated identities to cross-sell services to banking customers. These organizations are saving millions of dollars in user management costs and providing higher levels of service to their customers by using GlobalSign–s technology to integrate with existing CRM solutions and enable self-registration, dynamic authentication based on transaction value, and delegated, multi-tiered identity and access management features.

“Since its inception, GlobalSign has been focused on providing trusted digital identities and securing transactions for organizations, individuals, devices and content. With our newly acquired IAM products, we can now provide the solutions to help our customers better manage identities, with user self-service, authorization and sophisticated access controls,” said Joan Lockhart, GlobalSign–s chief marketing officer. “As more interactions and assets move online, providing comprehensive identity and lifecycle management services will become fundamental to creating new business paradigms and ensuring trust. We are excited to be offering these solutions to customers worldwide, as we help them manage identities within and beyond their organizations, and into the burgeoning Internet of Everything (IoE) opportunity.”

GlobalSign will showcase its new Identity Relationship Management solutions at the Gartner IAM Summit starting December 2 at Caesar–s Palace, Las Vegas, in booth 417.
