Hitachi Solutions Signs Distributor Agreement With vArmour

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — (Marketwired) — 12/16/14 — vArmour, the data center security company that protects enterprises and service providers from advanced cyber attacks and laterally moving threats, has signed a distributor agreement with Tokyo-based Hitachi Solutions Ltd. On Dec. 25, Hitachi Solutions will commence sales of vArmour–s distributed data center security solution, which helps enterprise customers and service providers protect and visualize their new “data defined perimeter,” protecting their data wherever it resides.

The partnership between vArmour and Hitachi Solutions represents a new dawn of enterprise security for Japanese business owners. vArmour–s distributed security platform provides visibility, control and threat defense across physical, virtual and cloud applications. Hitachi Solutions will help vArmour integrate into the Japanese market and protect enterprises from the $400 billion breaches and cyber crime that annually impact the global economy.*

“It is a great pleasure for us to work with Hitachi Solutions,” says vArmour CEO Timothy Eades. “Hitachi Solutions has intelligently led the field of security for many years. With their help, we believe that our distributed data center security solution will be welcomed by a wide range of enterprise customers in the Japan market.”

Today, cloud computing, virtualization, software-defined networks and mobility have transformed data centers. The Internet of Things (IoT) has scattered data across several digital mediums and has left many data streams vulnerable. Now, 83 percent of data travels East/West, never seen by the traditional perimeter. With this paradigm shift in data center traffic, attackers can easily hide in a multitude of data branches that flow through connected systems. As virtualization progresses, there is a greater need for global enterprise giants in countries like Japan to increase protection both inside and outside their data centers.

1. – Interconnectivity has pried open entrances for potential attacks, and exposed a virtual thicket of hiding space. Advance threats can latch onto applications, assets and packages and remain undetected for 225 days on average.**
2. – Traditional perimeter-based firewalls won–t cut it anymore. Laterally moving threats require security measures that are distributed as close to the asset as possible within the data center. Real-time detection and visualization of threat movement, attack remediation and exfiltration prevention, as well as micro-segmentation and policy enforcement control are a must.
3. Through software-based distributed data center security, operational costs are dramatically reduced and through dynamic orchestration with 3rd party integration, innovation is accelerated and scales to the needs of the agile business.

vArmour–s data center security solution protects enterprise data — whether on-cloud or on-premise — with a single virtual security system. Its security platform is comprised of a Director, which manages settings and sessions, and Enforcement Points (EPs), which control communication utilizing stateful inspection technology, and providing enterprises with a visual depiction of the data stream. A dedicated security fabric manages where the two above exchange information. Accordingly, vArmour can manage EPs on multiple servers as a single, logical system.

vArmour–s data center security delivers a consistent layer of visibility and control across virtual, cloud and physical applications. With vArmour, enterprises can understand the progression of an attack and trace its lineage to “Patient Zero” — the attacker–s point of entry. Enterprises have immediate insight into their data center risk profile and are able to adjust security measures without changing existing policies or IT infrastructures.
