Sonavation Announces Karl Weintz, Former Vice President of HID Global, as President & Chief Executive Officer

Most recently, Weintz served as vice president of mobile access for HID Global, a globally trusted source for secure identity solutions, and the world–s leader in access control systems. In addition, Weintz acted as executive vice president of worldwide sales, marketing and corporate development for ActivIdentity Corporation and was instrumental in the subsequent acquisition of ActivIdentity by HID. Previously, Weintz has also acted as chief operating officer for CoreStreet, developing infrastructure products and credential validation solutions for government and enterprise applications. Holding an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, Weintz has more than two decades of experience in leading security and technology businesses through hyper-growth and drastic industry consolidation.

Mr. Rauscher provides advice and oversight to global businesses and governments for strategic breakthroughs in the areas of ultra-high reliability and security across information and communications technology. He currently serves as ambassador-at-large and chief architect of Cyberspace Policy at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). While serving as chief technology officer & distinguished fellow of the EastWest Institute, he led the first track II China-U.S. bilateral on cyber-security, the guidance of which was cited by The New York Times editorial board as recommended reading for President Obama and President Xi.

Rauscher previously served as executive director of the Bell Labs Network Reliability and Security Office, and as a Bell Labs Fellow was cited for leading the first achievement of “6 9–s” availability for complex electronic systems and for architecting the development of hundreds of industry best practices for reliability and security of communications networks. He has provided expert testimony to special committees of the U.S. Congress and has served as vice chairman of president George W. Bush–s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) industry executive subcommittee. Rauscher holds electrical engineering degrees from Pennsylvania State University and Rutgers University, and participated in the M.I.T. Sloan School of Management executive development program.

Mr. Tucker is a veteran of the global electronic security industry, with over twenty years of experience, specializing in both logical and physical solutions. Tucker has served as the vice president of sales for NowForce, a comprehensive mobile solution for emergency response organizations, as well as for Next Level Security Systems where he was instrumental in launching one of the first cloud based access control/biometric/video technologies in the United States.

Previously, Tucker held the position of vice president of sales for Verint Video Solutions (formerly Lanex), and as a member of the executive team, successfully transformed the company from a start-up to the largest provider of video management systems in the world.
