Cellebrite Introduces New Suite of UFED Mobile Forensics Solutions for the Lab and Field

PETAH TIKVA, ISRAEL — (Marketwired) — 04/08/15 — Cellebrite, the leader in mobile forensic extraction, decoding and analysis solutions, has expanded its industry-leading UFED platform to deliver new, more robust role-based capabilities — UFED Pro Series for the lab and UFED Field Series for field personnel. With unparalleled data extraction and analysis capabilities optimized by role, each suite of solution components create unified workflows that allow examiners, investigators and first responders to collect, protect and act decisively on mobile data with the speed and accuracy a situation demands.

“Today, the weight of mobile evidence determining the outcomes of criminal cases is matched only by the sheer volume it now represents, a fact echoed by the results of our recent Predictions Survey,” said Ron Serber, Co-CEO, Cellebrite. “Every call, text or social media post can establish the critical connections officers, investigators and prosecutors need to determine guilt or innocence. Our new suite of solutions unlock the intelligence of new and disparate mobile data sources and extend investigative capabilities to the field so that actionable information can be qualified and shared quickly.”

Backlogs Challenging Timely Device Processing

With the growing importance of mobile device data to investigations, backlogs of any duration – even days or weeks – can jeopardize the length and outcome of criminal cases. Nearly 80 percent of survey respondents(1) reported experiencing some level of device backlog in the last year, with 44 percent experiencing backlogs of 1 to 12+ months. Respondents indicated they were open to new mobile forensics solutions that support multi-tier workflows and tools to extend simple data preview capability to field personnel as needed, something the UFED Field Series delivers.

New Mobile Forensics Solutions at a Glance

UFED Pro Series

With mobile devices now considered the most important data source in criminal investigations(2) and warehouses of data generated daily, forensic examiners need quick and efficient ways to tap into private data in the cloud, as well as service provider and third-party data sources, when a situation demands. In fact, 60 percent of Cellebrite customers cite accessing cloud-based data as one of two top mobile forensics challenges this year. The UFED Pro series – comprised of UFED Pro CLX and UFED Pro LX — is designed for just that purpose. UFED Pro CLX, featuring UFED Cloud Analyzer, delivers the exclusive capability to access private third-party data – an industry first.

Flexible and scalable to meet all operational needs and lab environments, UFED Pro features industry-trusted tools and analysis capabilities that allow users to quickly bypass device user locks, decrypt encrypted data from rapidly changing device operating systems and recover texts, deleted emails, location information and account profile data – and take appropriate action. The ability to unify disparate data for easier analysis helps bring key insights to the surface quickly, another UFED Pro Series advantage.

UFED Field Series

Limited resources and lean budgets mean public safety agencies need to find ways to empower field personnel with intuitive, investigative tools. The UFED Field Series – an integrated software and hardware solution comprised of UFED Field IX and UFED Field ILX — allows them to efficiently perform simple, real-time live data extractions onsite, avoiding growing device processing backlogs. Raw data and reports can be shared securely via an agency–s encrypted network helping to speed information sharing between the field and lab.

Extending simple extraction capabilities to first responders and detectives frees up forensic specialists to move beyond basic evidence collection and focus on more complex analytical work. The UFED Field Series also unifies workflows, making it possible to view, access and share mobile data via in-car workstations, laptops, tablets, or our new secure, self-service UFED InField Kiosks at stations or other locations.

Turning Information into Intelligence

“The impact of mobile data evidence on public safety investigations and critical proceedings has reached critical mass, yet challenges of legal access and privacy remain,” said Serber. “Our commitment is to ensuring UFED mobile forensics solutions unlock the intelligence necessary to speed investigations, unify teams at every level and extract evidence that will hold up in court.”
