BIO-key and Microsoft Report Strong Response to Windows 10 and Windows Hello Biometric Solutions at Microsoft Launch Events

WALL, NJ — (Marketwired) — 02/01/16 — BIO-key International, Inc. (OTCQB: BKYI), an innovative provider of strong biometric authentication solutions, announced the successful completion of its national 12-city tour with Microsoft, featuring BIO-key–s low-cost, high-quality fingerprint scanners and software solutions as part of the U.S. launch of Windows 10 for Business and Office 2016. Microsoft featured BIO-key as its only biometric solution partner on the highly successful launch, attended by thousands of IT leaders from Microsoft–s largest enterprise customers. More than 40 percent of those in attendance met with BIO-key and requested engagement regarding BIO-key products for Windows 10 and Hello, Microsoft–s native biometric logon option. Windows Hello, part of Windows 10, is a new way to sign in to devices, apps, online services, and networks. Windows Hello is easier, more convenient, and more secure than using a password, because it recognizes users themselves, not what they know or a token they carry. Using BIO-key–s solution, users sign in with a touch of their finger on a compact scanner. Today, over 200 million customers are using Windows 10 on PCs and devices, and thanks to Microsoft Hello and BIO-key, they now have the option to substitute their fingerprint for the cumbersome and insecure password of the past.

BIO-key–s line of scanners work natively with Windows 10 — users simply plug them into a USB port, and Windows Hello recognizes them. BIO-key also provides advanced solutions for enterprise users of its biometric technology requiring integration with Active Directory or public/private clouds, using the same, low-cost scanners.

“We are excited to see innovative partners like BIO-key offering high-quality biometric accessories that work seamlessly with Windows Hello. Now any user with a Windows 10 laptop, tablet or desktop can benefit from a more personal and secure authentication experience,” said Margaret Arakawa, General Manager, US Windows & Devices.

“BIO-key applauds Microsoft–s vision in making biometrics native to Windows 10,” stated Mike DePasquale, Chairman and CEO, BIO-key. “We are thrilled with the positive reception we received at the Microsoft launch events, and are actively engaging with dozens of Fortune 100 companies that attended and want to know more about our solutions. Together with Microsoft, BIO-key allows Windows 10 users to experience the convenience and security of Windows Hello without first having to upgrade their hardware. BIO-key developed SideSwipe, EcoID, and our entire line of compact fingerprint readers as a catalyst for the adoption of fingerprint authentication by providing a low-cost option for enhancing existing laptops and tablets. Our biometric technology represents one of the rare opportunities for IT to increase security while enhancing user experience and reducing password reset costs,” added DePasquale.

BIO-key is Revolutionizing Authentication, as our easy to use biometric solutions enable convenient and secure access to information and financial transactions. We eliminate passwords, PINs tokens and cards and make it easy for enterprises and consumers to secure their devices as well as information in the cloud. Our premium finger scanning devices SideSwipe and EcoID offer market leading quality, performance and price. Now anyone can BIO-key their world!
