TuringSense Showcases PIVOT, Most Advanced Wearable for Tennis, at BNP Paribas Open

INDIAN WELLS, CA and SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwired) — 03/07/16 — — , Silicon Valley wearable sports technology company, announced it will showcase its PIVOT wearable technology for tennis at this year–s happening March 7 through March 20 in Indian Wells, California. PIVOT, unlike current products that attach one sensor to a racquet or the wrist, is the first with innovative multi-sensors that tracks full-body movement in 3D to help tennis players master their swings and guard against injuries — without wires or cameras.

To experience PIVOT–s innovative capabilities, event attendees are invited to –play– TuringSense–s “Imitation Game,” a game that draws inspiration from computer science pioneer Alan Turing and his “Imitation game.” Using AI technology for tennis, TuringSense–s “Imitation Game” recognizes body movements and specific strokes. Players will attach a few PIVOT sensors, and will then have a chance to improve their tennis game by “imitating” a series of swings through the guidance of the system. Just think of it as simple as tracing a drawing. They–ll be able to compare their strokes in real-time against the recommended techniques — all displayed on a large screen monitor in the booth. All players in the “Imitation Game” will receive a free backpack from TuringSense.

“We are excited to be forging new partnerships with the tennis community,” said TuringSense CEO Limin He. “Exhibiting at the BNP Paribas Open, one of the top events for players, reflects our commitment to tennis. It–s a great opportunity to engage with tennis fans from around the world. And with our “Imitation Game” challenge, we think players will not only have fun, but be able to see very quickly how our technology can help them improve their technique and prevent injuries.”

“PIVOT is, by far, the most advanced technology in tennis to help improve your game,” said Hall of Fame coach Nick Bollettieri, who collaborated with TuringSense on the development of PIVOT. “It–s intuitive and simple to use and can benefit tennis players at every level — from amateur to professional — around the world.”

The “Imitation Game” has wide application outside of tennis, in other sports like golf, swimming, and basketball — who doesn–t want to shoot like Stephen Curry. And it can be used as a Serious Game for rehabilitation purposes, such as after surgery or sports injuries.

The BNP Paribas Open is the largest ATP World Tour and WTA combined two-week event in the world. The TuringSense booth is located in the Area East section of the Tennis Garden, near Stadium 2. In addition to the “Imitation Game” challenge, the TuringSense team offering free demonstrations of its wearable technology.

TuringSense, a pioneer in wearable sports technology, is revolutionizing sports training through innovative multi-sensor, high-speed full-body motion analysis solutions. The company–s first product, PIVOT, designed to improve tennis playing and training, provides instant biomechanical feedback for technique optimization and injury prevention. TuringSense is planning future products for sports like golf and swimming. Its technology also has a wide range of applications in physical therapy, insurance compliance, rehabilitation, posture correction and virtual reality/gaming. Visit .
