Niara and Carbon Black Partner to Extend Security Analytics to the Endpoint

SUNNYVALE, CA — (Marketwired) — 03/24/16 — , a provider of behavior analytics for attack detection and incident response, today announced a partnership with Carbon Black, the leader in next-generation endpoint security, extending Niara–s security analytics platform to include endpoint context in addition to data from any source within the network and security infrastructure. With the partnership, Niara integrates endpoint information derived from Carbon Black into its platform to more efficiently identify the root cause of an attack, improve the accuracy of results and reduce the time required for incident investigation and response.

“As organizations continue to adopt cloud computing, BYOD and IoT practices, it has become increasingly critical to secure the endpoint,” said Tom Barsi, senior vice president, business development for Carbon Black. “This integration with Niara enables our joint customers to leverage Carbon Black–s detection and response capabilities in the context of Niara–s total organizational attack visibility, further reducing the cost and complexity of identifying and responding to attacks.”

Niara is the first security analytics platform to combine endpoint context with behavioral analytics findings derived from packets, flows, logs and alerts among other data sources to add precision and depth to User Behavior Analytics (UBA), threat hunting and incident response activities. For example, when Niara flags an attack for investigation, analysts are provided with one-click access to contextual evidence that now includes endpoint forensics, complementing Niara–s robust visibility across the IT ecosystem. With access to comprehensive contextual evidence across the network and endpoints, incident response is made more effective, and analysts can more easily determine whether alerts are anomalous or malicious.

“Our integration with Carbon Black further highlights the extensibility of our security analytics platform,” said Sriram Ramachandran, CEO and co-founder of Niara. “We–re extremely excited to call them a partner, extending the breadth of our forensic data for even greater visibility into attacks before the damage has been done.”
