TAIPEI, TAIWAN — (Marketwired) — 05/30/16 — The Taipei Computer Association (TCA), one of the main organizers of COMPUTEX, states that in response to the trend of innovative technology applications, TCA has newly established the InnoVEX Startup Exhibit in 2016, in the hopes of creating a platform for startups, venture capitalists, manufacturers and ICT professionals to exchange ideas through the “Exhibition x Forum x Demo x Pitch Contest x Networking Party x Matchmaking” interaction model at COMPUTEX to encourage transnational cross-industry exchange. Also, by organizing nearly one hundred startup company product demos, TCA hopes to inspire the global ICT industry, and allow diverse innovative products and IoT applications to accelerate commercialization and market promotion by cooperating with the ICT value chain that is presented at COMPUTEX.
TCA points out that 217 startups and corporations from 22 countries and regions have joined InnoVEX this year, the 240 booths will showcase teams including Addweup, Astrotek Integration, BeckieTech, Blocks, CareMonkey, Connecterra, Cupple, Dronamics, HAP2U, Garage+, Glamorfy, GMobi, IDEAS Show, iStaging, Joyray Tech, Konolabs, Looking Glass, Lucid VR, MoBagel, NextDrive, oTHE Technology, SkyREC, Think Cloud, Toii, XROUND, etc. The displayed products include a wide array of applications in 5 main fields including Hardware & IoT, B2B Software, Consumer Technology, Cloud Applications and Health Tech. In addition, nearly 10 startups are launching finance technology (FinTech) related applications and services; other startups are proposing cross-industry applications in energy efficiency, agriculture, stock raising, education, water resource management and internet of vehicles. It is evident that InnoVEX could break through limitations in the ICT industry and create a truly integrated international cross-industry exchange platform.
TCA states that InnoVEX not only displays startup teams and corporations, but also hosts over 100 speakers at Center Stage and Pi((pi)) Stage including the top-tier investors, accelerators, founders and CEOs to share their insights. Keynotes and panels at the Center Stage will focus on the themes of the startup ecosystem, unicorn startup experience sharing, virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles. Famous speakers such as Mr. T.H. Tung, CEO of Pegatron will share the entrepreneurship with three young Taiwanese entrepreneurs; NYC media lab, AMD, HTC and Samsung will gather together with talking VR topic; Kent Larson, Director of the MIT Media Lab will share his opinion of autonomous vehicles. Also, various venture capitals are participating in the InnoVEX forum including startup financing heavyweights the 500 Startups, Acorn Pacific Ventures, Click Ventures, Fenox Venture Capital, Hardware Club, HWTrek, GGV, SanDisk Ventures, Sparklabs Global Ventures, and Startupbootcamp. Another stage “(pi)(Pi)” representing infinite, 80 speakers and startups will pitch their innovation to investors and buyers from all over the world.
To promote interaction between domestic and foreign startup teams, InnoVEX will provide $30,000 to the winner of the Pitch Contest. The contest has attracted 102 teams from 17 countries to apply. TCA has invited a number of experts from venture capitals, Startup accelerators and well-known technology companies to participate in the contest as judges, to find the most potential team. In addition to the USD$30,000 startup prize money, there are several bonus awards offered by InnoVEX corporate partners, The Ministry of Science, LINE, The Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC) and Acer, which include the Silicon Valley accelerator training opportunity, free booth of Echelon Asia Summit and free accounts to develop new internet services and mobile apps on the platform of LINE and acer.
TCA states that the reason for establishing the InnoVEX Startup Exhibition at COMPUTEX is that TCA believes, as the global investment trend of the next decade focuses on Mobile Internet, the Taiwan ICT industry will still play a key role in the innovation value chain. Held in conjunction with COMPUTEX, InnoVEX is the most international startup event in Taiwan; the exhibition hopes to create the best interaction platform for creative ideas and manufacturing capabilities.
