Independent Study Finds 486 Percent ROI Delivered by iPass Global Wi-Fi Solution

REDWOOD SHORES, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/26/16 — (NASDAQ: IPAS), the leading provider of global mobile connectivity, announced today the results of an independent Forrester Consulting study on the economic impact of the . The commissioned study, , is based on the experience of a long-time iPass customer, a large multinational corporation with nearly 100,000 employees globally. The study shows that by standardizing on iPass for global Wi-Fi connectivity, the customer realized 486% ROI on an investment that paid for itself in less than one month. In addition, the company reclaimed 118,000 hours of productivity per year.

Specifically, the study showed value delivered to the customer of $14.9 million over three years versus costs of $2.5 million, adding up to a net present value (NPV) of $12.4 million. The value includes improved employee productivity, alternate connectivity costs avoided and cost avoidance specifically for inflight connectivity.

In the study, the customer identified the most important benefits of deploying iPass as the ability to keep employees connected to the organization, to streamline connectivity costs, and promote a proactive enterprise security posture.

The customer recently standardized the service, making it available to its entire workforce. Before standardizing, the organization faced several key challenges to keep its employees connected and productive outside of the office. Employees would purchase Wi-Fi access and expense the cost as an add-on item to other travel expenses. This ad hoc expense became difficult to control and track. Additionally, some employees would forego connecting to Wi-Fi due to security concerns or difficulty accessing Wi-Fi, which resulted in lost productivity.

“Before using iPass, our employees often didn–t connect to Wi-Fi in airports or on planes,” said the company–s global product lead for network security quoted in the study. “With iPass, what was an out-of-pocket expense for the company and the person went away. We see most of our employees when they–re on planes, when they–re in airports, when they–re traveling on behalf of the company. They are productive and connected to us at all times. It–s a very significant impact to the company.”

“The Forrester study shows the substantial return on investment iPass can have both in terms of productivity increases and dollars saved,” said Patricia Hume, chief commercial officer of iPass. “Mobile workers require one simple connectivity solution that enables them to send and receive large files and provides easy access to email and bandwidth hungry applications like cloud-based services and video calling. The Total Economic Impact of iPass demonstrates that when companies deploy a global, cost-effective, secure connectivity strategy, they can vastly improve their bottom line.”

To that point, the interviewed customer quoted in the study stating: “The main benefit, if you sum it up, is the ease of connectivity that iPass affords our employees. It means that they can stay connected to our company and stay productive.”
