FANS Helps Iconic Music Venue The Capitol Theatre Commemorate More than 40 Years of Concert History

NEW YORK, NY — (Marketwired) — 11/29/16 — — the leading fan-to-fan social platform for music lovers to share their enthusiasm around live events and discover past, present and future concert experiences — today announced an update to their platform specifically for venue partners. Venue timelines will allow concert venues to catalogue their entire concert history in an interactive way, featuring photos, videos, and memories from past shows. Venue timelines can now be fully embedded into the venues– websites, as well as venue pages on the FANS platform. This is the first in a series of updates FANS will be implementing to support venues in the coming months.

The activation will first roll out with iconic New York music venues and , whose combined nearly fifty years of concert history will now be available for fans to view and reminisce on past live events. Concert-goers can add their own photos, videos and stories to venue timelines, delving deep into the past to add a memory as historic as , which took place at The Capitol Theatre back in August 1970, or as recent as at Brooklyn Bowl this past April.

While it is standard for concertgoers to log onto a venue–s website to learn about upcoming shows, the FANS powered embedded venue timeline integration marks the first time that music fans will be able to explore and contribute to the rich concert histories of The Capitol Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl. The timelines list every concert played at each venue — from opening night to last night — and are pre-populated with metadata including supporting acts and setlists. The venues– staff and fellow music lovers have already begun to populate the timelines with concert-specific content — including photos, videos, ticket stubs, and other personal memories. Once logged into the FANS platform, all fans will be invited to share their own memories and contribute to the growing people–s history of each venue.

“The Cap is a veteran concert hall that–s seen countless iconic shows in its tenure, from the Grateful Dead to the Stones, My Morning Jacket to the Strokes,” said Peter Shapiro, Founder of FANS and owner of both The Capitol Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl. “FANS is proud to provide means for venues like it and The Bowl to keep these important memories alive for fans. Nostalgia is a powerful part of the fan experience, and there–s no other place for music lovers to dig into these mementos,” he said. “Where else can you see that Pink Floyd opened the Capitol Theatre back in 1970 with “Granchester Meadows and closed with –Interstellar Overdrive?–“

FANS launched this summer with the mission of bringing music-lovers the most comprehensive online platform to engage with each other and the artists they love — and now the venues that hold the music and live experiences that matter most. More FANS powered venue timelines will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
