LuxCarta Joins European Training & Simulation Association

Sophia Antipolis, France – May 11, 2017 – LuxCarta announced today that it is has joined the European Training and Simulation Association (ETSA). The company has been targeting simulation and training opportunities with its geodata portfolio of global land use/land cover and 500+ geospecific cities and believes ETSA membership will help foster more meaningful relationships in this community.

“We believe our expertise developed for the global telecom space – namely our ability to rapidly build large-area coverage of entire cities, regions and even countries – is equally applicable to the simulation and training space,” explained Albéric Maumy, managing director of LuxCarta. “We had a positive response at last year’s I/ITSEC exhibition. We’re continuing to learn about the specific needs and requirements of this community and we’re investing in our R&D and marketing to participate in a larger way.”

The European Training and Simulation Association (ETSA) represents the continent’s training and simulation community and provides an environment for users and suppliers to exchange opportunities, ideas, information and strategies on training and simulation technology and methodology. The group brings together all those that have a professional interest in improving the effectiveness of training and training related interoperability, standards and codes of practice. It represents to governments and other users of training and simulation the non-partisan business interests of the industry.

In welcoming LuxCarta, Graham McIntyre, chairman of ETSA commented: “The training and simulation community in Europe depends on small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and ETSA is delighted that a leading company like LuxCarta has joined. ETSA is run by the members for the members and I look forward to their participation in the association.”

LuxCarta is headquartered in the south of France, with two global production facilities and regional sales offices located around the world. The company is investing heavily in R&D to create software that automates many production pipelines and helps disseminate its products efficiently to end users. Its commercial offer to the simulation and training community includes global land use /land cover, along with geospecific building models for over 500 cities around the world. LuxCarta’s ability to ramp up production to meet tight deadlines has separated it from its competitors in the wireless industry – and should be a benefit in the simulation and training ecosystem.

“We’re looking forward to proving ourselves to the simulation and training community,” added Maumy. “We have a great deal of remote sensing and photogrammetry expertise that is transferable to their end users. Indeed, our on-the-shelf catalogue has generated a great deal of interest already.”

LuxCarta will be demonstrating its simulation and training product offering with its fellow ETSA members at this year’s ITEC trade show May 16-18 in the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Center on stand 92.
