Axios Systems retains UK Government framework recognition in G-Cloud 9

Edinburgh, UK – 12th June, 2017: The UK Government’s latest iteration of its G-Cloud procurement framework, G-Cloud 9 has recognised one of the world’s leading providers of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM), Axios Systems. The company’s market-leading service management tools assyst will be offered in lot one.

Set up in 2012, one of the central aims of G-Cloud was to accelerate the typically lengthy public-sector tender processes. The initiative allows public-sector organisations to buy cloud services from a range of Digital Marketplace approved suppliers of which Axios is one.

The period between May and October 2016 was largely tumultuous for UK public-sector spending on ITSM products as a whole. While cumulative spending by Central government rose by over 1,000%, investiture for Local government has not seen the same growth[1].

Additionally, Software-as-a-Service has not remained as strong as it was ahead of the G-Cloud 8 release. Statistics show a 63.5% drop in overall spending on Cloud Services-as-a-Service within the UK public-sector between May and October last year. Specialist cloud services spending has also fallen sharply, from by 45% in the same time period[2].

Cumulative sales by company size however showed steady increases in IT spending over the course of five months. Large enterprise spending grew by 29%, while small and medium enterprises (SMEs) saw a rise in spending of 19%[3].

Several large public-sector bodies have implemented Axios’s leading ITSM solution assyst, including the Scottish Government, the Forestry Commission, HM Customs and Revenue (HMRC) and police services. It also serves many local councils such as Fife Council and the City and County of Swansea. The latter transformed its IT operations by successfully amalgamating two service desks into one in just 106 days.
