The Global Supply Chain Leaders Group (GSCLG) Is Pleased to Announce That Michael Massetti, Corporate Vice President, Integrated Supply Chain of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE: AMD), Has Been Named the Supply Chain Executive of the Year

SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/02/11 — The award is presented to the individual who received the highest aggregate ratings in making significant contributions to the advancement of the Supply Chain Management profession and maintaining sustainable, responsible business practices in its global operations during the past year.

As the GSCLG-s Executive of the Year, Michael Massetti stands among other industry leaders who have made extraordinary strides in the areas of responsible corporate citizenship, leadership, supply chain excellence and industry recognition.

Michael Massetti is the Corporate Vice President, Integrated Supply Chain, AMD, with responsibility for global supply planning, inventory management and control, customer operations, order management, fulfillment, and the supply chain management infrastructure program.

Before joining AMD in 2008, Michael was Vice President, Global Procurement & Quality at Tekelec. In that role, he led a centralized global team covering all spend categories and managed all contract manufacturing, OEM hardware, and software that enabled the transformation of procurement from transactional to an advance sourcing function.

Massetti began his tenure in the world of supply upon joining Lucent Technologies in 2002 as Director of Supplier Management. Prior to Lucent, Michael was Director of Program Management at Dell and spent 18 years at IBM-s Microelectronics Division in various engineering and management positions.

Michael Massetti holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. He also holds a MSEE and MBA from the University of Vermont. Michael was recognized by Global Supply Chain Review as one of the Top 25 Supply Chain Executives in 2009 and by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as a 2010 Pro to Know.

The 2011 Executive of the Year Award will be presented to Michael Massetti during the annual GSCLG awards dinner in Redwood City, CA, on November 16, 2011.
