Warrior Media Announces Launch of Fantasy Sports Vegas

CHICAGO, IL — (Marketwire) — 11/17/11 — Warrior Media has entered the growing fantasy sports market with (“FSV”), a website that offers daily fantasy contests with cash prizes. While over 30 million American play fantasy sports, few of them are aware that they can legally win cash prizes every day. FSV offers seasoned fantasy veterans and casual sports fans alike the quickest and easiest way to win cash on sports online.

On most fantasy sports sites, leagues last an entire season, have large groups, and require users to meet for a draft or auction. In players are sorted into groups based on likely production, and users in each group to build a team. Most contests last only a day and have as few as two users. FSV manages the entry fees and payouts, allowing users to pay by credit card.

Winning money on fantasy sports has always been legal, but it wasn-t until 2006 that it became expressly legal on the federal level. When Congress passed the UIGEA, the Internet gambling enforcement law, it exempted fantasy sports from the definition of gambling.

Former Foley & Lardner attorney Joe Kreeger set out to find a site to play fantasy college basketball. “As a fantasy fan myself, I wanted a site that was quick, easy to use, and let me play every day. When I confirmed it was legal to host contests with cash prizes, I stopped litigating and started working on fantasy sports,” said Kreeger, Warrior Media-s CEO.

In addition to making existing popular fantasy sports into shorter-term competitions, FSV is expanding to lesser-served sports markets. FSV currently hosts fantasy MLB, and contests. FSV is adding fantasy NHL next month, and fantasy NCAA basketball and golf in January 2012. Underserved sports like tennis, soccer, and racing are planned for the spring.

FSV differentiates itself from other fantasy sites not only by ease of play but by the amount of contests available. “Most fantasy sites have one contest per sport. We offer a dozen different contest types for the NFL,” Kreeger said. FSV also responds to demand for new contests quickly. “One user requested an NCAA football contest with only Top 25 teams playing each other. We created it in twenty minutes.”
