Image Microsystems Wins Green Reverse Logistics Award for Second Straight Year

AUSTIN, TX and LAS VEGAS, NV — (Marketwire) — 02/09/12 — Image Microsystems — a leading provider of technology restoration, reverse logistics, e-waste recycling, and MicroStrate® recycled plastic products manufacturing — today announced they have been awarded the by the Reverse Logistics Association for the second year in a row. The prestigious award is presented each year at the Reverse Logistics Association Conference and Expo held in Las Vegas, NV. The award was the result of three months of nominations and final selection by the Reverse Logistics Association Advisory Board and professional staff.

“We are honored to have been selected for this award yet again,” stated Alex Abadi, PhD, CEO of Image Microsystems. “We-ve worked long and hard to ensure that our reverse logistics offerings are the most cost effective and attain the highlest levels of sustainabilty for our customers,” added Abadi. “We-ve also invested in programs to help develop a closed-loop — from asset recovery through recycling and ultimately to products manufactured from e-waste,” concluded Abadi.

One result of that effort is patent pending MicroStrate® sign substrate. It is a versatile material made completely of recycled e-waste plastic. Image Microsystems- proprietary manufacturing process combines “dirty” plastic found in spent printer cartridges and computer or printer housings and converts it into resilient, cost-effective, earth-friendly products such as traffic signs and markers. “Dirty” plastic is considered valueless in the recycling supply chain and as a result frequently ends up in landfills or incinerated. Now, purchasers of signage and markers made from MicroStrate material can save money on a product as tough — but not as theft-prone as aluminum — while simultaneously feeling good about contributing to carbon footprint and e-waste reduction.

“I am pleased that, once more, Image Microsystems has been honored by the Reverse Logistics Association. They are a sterling example of best practices in the reverse logistics industry,” confirmed Dr. Oliver Hedgepeth, Program Director, Transportation and Logistics Management for the American Public University System. “They are truly the intersection between technology and research,” concluded Dr. Hedgepeth.

Image Microsystems provides a totally closed-loop asset recovery service to major OEMs and retailers. The material that cannot be reused is recycled — with the recycled material converted into MicroStrate signage that can be installed on their campuses.

Currently, most e-waste ends up in China or other developing countries where it is a large and problem. As the problem grows, more and more “fake” recyclers enter the picture. Ethical companies such as have searched for efficient methods of recycling and uses for e-waste. MicroStrate® signage is a result of those efforts. The proprietary technology developed by allows dirty e-waste plastic to be turned into a useable material for traffic signage and road markers. No other reverse logistics provider has this type of technology currently in use. You can learn more about the MicroStrate manufacturing process on the company-s channel.
