Frontier Strategy Group Partners With Syngenta on Food Security in Emerging Markets

WASHINGTON, DC — (Marketwire) — 05/31/12 — (“FSG”), a leading provider of information to senior executives responsible for emerging markets, has recently developed a food security index in partnership with Syngenta Asia Pacific called the Rice Bowl Index.

Richard Leggett, Chief Executive Officer of FSG, presented at yesterday-s launch of the Index in Bangkok, Thailand, alongside the World Economic Forum-s East Asia Summit.

The Rice Bowl Index was designed to facilitate positive and productive dialogue, collaboration and action between governments, the private sector and other key stakeholders in the area of food security. It is a quantitative and qualitative diagnostic tool which examines the key enablers and disablers of food security for a country. Designed to translate the complexity of food security into an opportunity for action, the Rice Bowl Index is a tool which assesses how robust a country-s capacity is to address the challenges of food security. The Index is the result of a collaborative effort between Syngenta, FSG and Professor Paul Teng.
