CRS Electronics Appoints New Director to the Board

WELLAND, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 10/05/12 — CRS Electronics Inc. (“CRS” or the “Company”), (TSX VENTURE: LED), a developer and manufacturer of LED lighting, today announced the appointment of Dr. Zheng-Hong Lu to the Board of Directors. The appointment is effective immediately.

Z.H. Lu is a full professor and a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Organic Optoelectronics at the University of Toronto. He received a B.Sc. degree in physics in 1983 from Yunnan University, China, and a Ph.D degree in engineering physics in 1990 from the Ecole Polytechnique, University of Montreal, Canada. Prior to his current position, he was employed by the National Research Council-s Institute for Microstructural Sciences as a research officer. While at National Research Council he developed a number of materials and processes for microelectronics and optoelectronics, in particular light-emitting silicon superlattices, dielectrics for silicon MOS transistors, and surface passivation for solid-state lasers. He joined the engineering faculty of the University of Toronto in 1998 and started an Organic Optoelectronics Research Group working on materials and device structures for OLED flat-panel display, solid-state lighting and solar cells. The group has developed OLEDs with 290 lumen per watt energy efficiency- a world record. He has authored and co-authored over 250 technical papers in leading journals such as Applied Physics Letters, Nature, Science, etc., and has filed more than 20 patent applications. He has co-founded Norel Optronics Inc. and OTI Lumionics Inc. to commercialize inventions from his group. He also serves the community in a variety of roles: as a scientific advisory board member of Lumentra Inc, as the chief advisory scientist of Low Carbon Energy Institute at Yunnan University, as an associate editor of Science China: Physics, Mechanics, and Astronomy, etc.
