Innovative Oncology Business Solutions (IOBS) Selects Net.Orange to Implement Patient Centered Medical Home Model (COME HOME)

DALLAS, TX — (Marketwire) — 01/14/13 — Net.Orange announced today it has been selected as the technology partner to power COME HOME, a virtual patient centered medical home (PMH) network of seven stand-alone oncology practices. Innovative Oncology Business Solutions (IOBS) was recently awarded a three-year $19.8 million innovation award by the Medicare & Medicaid Innovation Center for the COME HOME project. This project aims to improve health outcomes, enhance patient care experiences and significantly reduce the cost of care for an estimated 10,000 cancer patients across seven states. Cost savings of $20 million are estimated over the course of the project from reduced hospital admissions and improved care coordination.

IOBS will use the Net.Orange Care Management application for implementing best practices for diagnosing and treating cancer patients and decision support logic to help first responders triage patients under treatment. The Net.Orange clinical operating system (cOS) platform will also be used to connect to disparate clinic systems such as electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems while minimizing disruption to daily clinic activities.

“Cancer care today is both complicated and expensive. The COME HOME project has the unique opportunity to lead the transformation of care delivery and payment for oncology. At the New Mexico Cancer Center (NMCC), this model has achieved the triple objectives of better patient experience, better quality of care, and lower cost. Net.Orange-s technology platform is critical in helping us replicate this model of coordinated care at other community cancer centers, without requiring them to change any of their IT systems or retool their clinical processes,” said Dr. Barbara McAneny, MD and CEO of IOBS.

“We are honored to partner with Dr. McAneny, one of the leading voices in the national physician community, to propagate the COME HOME model,” said Vasu Rangadass, Chief Executive Officer of Net.Orange. “Hospitals, payors and physician practices are exploring various models of integrated care to deliver the right care at the right cost. Dr. McAneny-s experience coupled with the NDO platform-s real time action oriented decision support technology will bring a fresh perspective to care delivery.”
