ATEN Unveils DVI Cable KVM Switch with Audio

Taipei, Taiwan, June 25th, 2007. ATEN International, leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of advanced connectivity solutions, sets a new milestone in the development of entry-level KVM technology with the introduction of the new 2-Port DVI Cable KVM Switches CS62D (PS/2) and CS62DU (USB) of its PETITE product line. CS62D and CS62DU allow users to control two PS/2 or USB computers respectively from one DVI video console, and support independent switching of the KVM and Audio focus between the computers. Both models feature a Remote Selection Switch, which can be connected with CS62D/CS62DU to control port switching from the desktop while the KVM Switch itself is conveniently placed in an out-of-the-way location.
For a tidy workplace and trouble-free installation CS62D/CS62DU feature a compact design and built-in all-in-one cables (1.2m for the console; 0.6m and 1.2m for the computers). Users can switch between the computers via Hotkeys or the innovative Remote Selection Switch. This small control unit connects to the KVM with a 1.8m cable, thus saving even more desktop space. The Remote Selection Switch provides a pushbutton for easy switching, and two LEDs to indicate the selected port. It also has a non-slip pad on its back that is designed for easily stabilizing the unit and as an added benefit for the users.
CS62D/CS62DU are fully compliant with the DVI-Digital specifications. Their DVI (Digital Video Interface) functionality eliminates image distortions formerly caused by analog video transfer. In addition, both switches are Audio-enabled supporting microphones and speakers. With a full bass response they provide a rich sound experience for 2.1 surround sound systems. As the KVM and Audio focus can be switched independently, users can for example listen to sound files of one PC while playing video game or working with office applications on another PC.
“ATEN recognizes the increasing importance of sound functionality and sharp image transmission in modern computer use,” says Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International. “More and more PC users want to keep up with the latest innovations in computer video applications and at the same time integrate audio devices such as speakers and microphones. The new CS62D and CS62DU switches give them this option by offering maximum flexibility and convenience of use.”
The CS62DU, USB DVI KVM Switch, offers a special feature. Its USB 2.0 mouse port not only supports a multi-function mouse but also allows users to connect an USB Hub for extended peripheral usage. Thus, they can share more of the USB peripheral devices among the connected PCs – including the USB mouse, USB flash drives, digital cameras, et cetera.
Both CS62D and CS62DU offer an excellent video quality of up to 1600 x 1200 pixel at 60Hz (DDC2B) and support all major operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, Linux, FreeBSD, and Mac—for CS62DU). Furthermore, they integrate the Auto Scan function to monitor the operation of the connected computers and do not require extra power supply.
ATEN’s CS62D, 2-Port PS/2 DVI KVM Switch with Audio, and CS62DU, USB DVI KVM Switch with Audio, are available now. The recommended retail prices for these devices are £44.60 and £53.40 respectively, not including VAT. For more information please contact your local ATEN sales representatives or distributors.
