Radiant Logic Delivers First On-Premises Identity Provider, Harnessing Virtualization to Reach Cloud Applications

NOVATO, CA — (Marketwire) — 03/19/13 — The recent rise of cloud applications and mobile devices has posed serious challenges for Identity and Access Management practitioners, while the fragmentation of existing identity systems has frustrated efforts to meet those growing needs. With the release of RadiantOne 6.1, Radiant Logic is uniquely positioned to meet these evolving demands with the industry-s first complete on-premises enterprise identity provider. The release bundles Radiant Logic-s Cloud Federation Service with VDS, delivering a standards-based federated identity and access management solution. As a comprehensive identity provider, RadiantOne virtualizes identities across data sources into a single logical access point and connects them securely to cloud applications using SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0.

RadiantOne-s Cloud Federation Service (CFS) received substantial upgrades in the current release, complementing previous editions- robust SAML 2.0 support with enhanced OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0 capabilities, and bringing pre-made connectors for scores of popular cloud applications. These upgrades to CFS allow administrators to establish trust with third-party identity providers — including social networks such as Facebook, Google+, and Twitter — for single sign-on. CFS also now supports just-in-time provisioning of user accounts, while VDS-s new support for SCIM, REST, and enhanced SPML enable robust bulk user provisioning operations to cloud applications.

According to Radiant Logic CEO Michel Prompt: “With 6.1, we-re leveraging our hard-earned expertise with identity integration in some of the world-s most demanding identity infrastructures, and we-re combining it with a flexible federation layer in a single package fit for all manner of large and medium-sized organizations. We-ve long had a vision for identity management where all enterprises can buy a complete solution at an affordable price to serve as the heart of their identity and access infrastructure. In RadiantOne 6.1, we are delivering on that vision.”

“With RadiantOne safely on premises and behind the firewall,” Prompt continues, “enterprises will have a cost-effective solution to integrate and rationalize their identities across data sources into one federated layer, to create trust relationships with external identity providers, and to use easy connectors to reach hundreds of federation standards-compliant applications.”

The RadiantOne federated identity service functions as a layer of abstraction for identity data sources. The contents of all an organization-s Active Directory forests, LDAP repositories, and SQL databases are virtualized and rationalized. Data from social networks and other identity providers is added to build a complete profile of each user. The service tailors and remaps that identity data for each unique application-s consumption, creating security tokens that contain all the identity data an application needs to authenticate and authorize users. With identity data translated to meet the needs of each application, cloud and legacy applications are shielded from the complexity of an organization-s identity infrastructure, making services such as single sign-on possible.

RadiantOne will be generally available in May 2013. A free trial download will be available at .

As the market leader for identity virtualization, Radiant Logic delivers simple, logical, and standards-based access to all identity within an organization. The RadiantOne federated identity service enables customizable identity views built from disparate data silos, driving critical authentication and authorization decisions for WAM, federation, and cloud deployments. Fortune 1000 companies rely on RadiantOne to deliver quick ROI by reducing administrative effort, simplifying integration tasks, and building a flexible infrastructure to meet changing business demands.
