Zayo Connects DuPont Fabros Technology-s NJ1 Data Center to Trans-Atlantic Cable Landing Stations in New Jersey

BOULDER, CO — (Marketwire) — 03/28/13 — Zayo Group, an international Bandwidth Infrastructure company, today announced its fiber network will now connect DuPont Fabros Technology-s (DFT) NJ1 data center located in Piscataway, N.J., to trans-Atlantic cable landing stations. This build provides diverse dark fiber connectivity over Zayo-s network to customers between NJ1 and two trans-Atlantic cable landing stations located in Tuckerton, N.J., and Manasquan, N.J., and enabling access to three trans-Atlantic cables — TAT-14, Atlantica-1 and Apollo.

Designed to LEED Gold Standards, NJ1 brings a new class of wholesale data center to the market by offering independent redundancy and security. Zayo-s diverse connectivity in NJ1 offers customers the ability to meet their data needs during disaster recovery situations. Zayo also provides a suite of services and fiber connectivity to all ten DFT data centers, which includes Ethernet, IP, Wavelengths and Dark Fiber. Data center connectivity is a critical focus for Zayo which currently has more than 11,000 buildings on net across the U.S. and Europe.

“Global connectivity is important in today-s cloud-based environments,” says Vinay Nagpal, Director of Carrier Relations for DuPont Fabros Technology, Inc. “Zayo-s direct connection to the trans-Atlantic cable landing stations gives our customers the ability to reach Europe, thereby bypassing the congested network points in Manhattan while improving network performance.”

“Connecting into DuPont Fabros Technology-s NJ1 facility aligns with our strategy to connect to key Data Centers throughout our footprint,” says Jim Nolte, Senior Vice President of Sales at Zayo Group. “Customers at NJ1 will have enhanced connectivity to other Data Centers, Internet Peering locations, Carrier Hotels and enterprise locations.”
