Wave Signs Global Distribution Agreement With Fujitsu America

LEE, MA — (Marketwired) — 05/09/13 — Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX), the Trusted Computing Company, today announced that it has signed an agreement allowing Fujitsu America to resell Wave-s comprehensive portfolio of innovative solutions for managing data protection, authentication and malware detection directly to Fujitsu-s customers and distribution partners.

Fujitsu will emphasize the availability of Wave Mobility Pro – Tablet Edition, which makes use of hardware security onboard tablets running Windows 8 for seamless authentication to the network — all without the hassle of entering passwords. Mobility Pro also manages encryption, including Microsoft BitLocker and self-encrypting drives, where encryption takes place within the drive itself.

“With the growing demand for our STYLISTIC® and LIFEBOOK® models it made perfect sense for us to join forces with Wave in making Mobility Pro available directly to our customers who have asked for a management solution for Windows 8,” commented Paul Moore, vice president product management and marketing, mobile products at Fujitsu. “No other ISV offers the range of options and flexibility for managing multiple types of encryption on various form factors, from tablets to laptops.”

The distribution agreement covers Wave-s complete portfolio, empowering organizations to:

“Fujitsu America-s reach and excellent reputation for delivering industry-leading tablets and convertibles will provide a solid platform for bringing Wave Mobility Pro to a wider market,” commented Steven Sprague, CEO of Wave Systems.

“We-re excited to collaborate with Wave and Fujitsu to deliver a complete solution for secure and fast storage. For increasing security and efficiency, you can-t do better than a well-managed self encrypted solid-state drive,” said Justin Sykes, general manager of Micron-s client SSD division. “In fact, we-re such big believers in encryption that it-s now standard for our client SSDs.”

Wave Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: WAVX) reduces the complexity, cost and uncertainty of data protection by starting inside the device. Unlike other vendors who try to secure information by adding layers of software for security, Wave leverages the security capabilities built directly into endpoint computing platforms themselves. Wave has been a foremost expert on this growing trend, leading the way with first-to-market solutions and helping shape standards through its work as a board member for the Trusted Computing Group.
