MA-UNI: Signal conditioning from bmcm for mobile use

Technical interferences and damages in industrial environment can have a wide range of reasons. Breakdowns immediately produce high costs. To enable the service technician to quickly react on site, often measurements of the most different kind are necessary.
Measurement technology meeting the manifold requirements in mobile use must be universal, compact and resistant to interferences.

The 5B module MA-UNI from BMC Messsysteme GmbH (bmcm) is a real all-rounder in the field of signal conditioning.

Whatever is to be measured – voltage, current, resistance, or temperature: The measuring amplifier MA-UNI adjusts signals of different type and size to the 5V input of a PC data acquisition system.
All common sensors as well as LVDTs and measuring bridges can be connected directly.
With 10kHz bandwidth, it is ideal for dynamic signals.

Common-mode interferences often produced by machinery or other loads in industrial environment are effectively suppressed by the balanced input of the differential amplifier.
In addition, the galvanic isolation of the 5B module protects the whole system against high potentials and interferences.

Operating mode and measuring range are set with DIP switches and solder bridges. If only one switch is flipped, for example, the MA-UNI is reconfigured from voltage measurement to carrier frequency mode or for using a strain gage measuring bridge.

Bmcm offers a highly compact solution to connect the MA-UNI to a PC data acquisition system: Up to 16 MA-UNI or other 5B modules can be installed in the portable, 19—compatible (width: 42 HP) table-top units of the AMS42 series from bmcm. If the service technician chooses the version with integrated DAQ system (USB or LAN), his on-site measurement system consists of laptop, AMS42 amplifier measurement system, and sensors – universal, compact and interference-free.
