New Relic Pledges to Raise $30,000 for CURE International to Provide Life-Changing Surgeries for Children in Need

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 11/12/13 — , the software analytics company, in partnership with global nonprofit CURE International, today announced the launch of a new charitable campaign to help physically disabled children in the developing world get the life-changing surgeries they need. From now until Dec. 10, New Relic will donate $100 to CURE for every free trial of its service deployed via , with the ultimate goal of raising at least $30,000. For developers and IT teams, the 30 Days, 30 Kids campaign presents the perfect opportunity to optimize their apps while helping heal a child at the same time.

Through its network of charitable hospitals and programs, CURE will use the money donated by New Relic to treat children with conditions such as clubfoot, bowed legs, cleft lips, untreated burns, and hydrocephalus. More than 100 million children in the developing world suffer from physical disabilities that can be cured through surgery. New Relic and CURE launched the 30 Days, 30 Kids program to help provide those surgeries in places like Africa, Afghanistan, and the Dominican Republic where health services are not readily available.

Since CURE opened its first hospital in Kenya in 1998, the organization has seen more than 2.1 million patients, provided over 150,000 life-changing surgeries, and trained 6,600 medical professionals. CURE has been a New Relic customer for the past year, using the software analytics company-s application performance management (APM) solutions to improve the performance of both its web and mobile applications. Data-driven APM has proven extremely valuable to nonprofits of all shapes and sizes, helping them engage internal stakeholders, reach potential donors, and maximize their impact through better performing apps.

The 30 Days, 30 Kids campaign was first announced at New Relic-s FutureStack 2013 conference on October 25. To kick it off, New Relic President and Chief Operating Officer Chris Cook, together with his wife, donated $2,000 toward the fund. Companies and/or individuals who have already deployed New Relic can also make contributions to the program at .

“New Relic has always strived to create a culture of giving back, one that recognizes and contributes to the exceptional work being done by organizations like CURE. This is reflected in the two service days we let employees take off each year to volunteer for a nonprofit of their choosing. As we enter this year-s season of giving, we hope others will join us in helping raise money for this very worthy cause.”

“CURE is creating software that lifts up the stories of the kids and families we serve and allows supporters around the world to see the impact of their gifts through updates from our hospitals. New Relic-s APM platform is already an important part of helping us make that possible. The 30 Days, 30 Kids campaign is a great opportunity for software professionals to be introduced to a world-class product while making a world-changing difference at the same time. CURE is proud to be a part of this community of New Relic customers, and we want to say thanks in advance to everyone who participates.”
