offers an innovative technology platform and process to make every divorce amicable. Company founder and CEO Michelle Crosby said, “We knew divorce was epidemic — in the U.S., a couple divorces every 13 seconds. But the number of married people currently considering divorce was higher than we anticipated, especially for women. Even higher than what we see in our business on a daily basis. Based on this survey, we expect to see a surge of filings in the early months of 2014.”

This experience became the catalyst for the creation of Wevorce, which focuses on keeping families out of court by providing a meaningful alternative to the adversarial legal system. More than 100 families have been through the Wevorce process to date and, in 99 percent of cases, the successfully keeps families out of court.

“Divorce is the second-most stressful event of an adult-s life,” said Crosby. “It-s not a step that should be taken lightly. But couples who have determined that the end of the marriage is inevitable should make every effort to make it an amicable parting, especially if there are children involved. It-s not only what-s best in terms of your ability to successfully co-parent down the road, but it-s less emotionally and financially draining.”
