Inphi Announces Interoperability Demonstration of 100G CMOS iKON CDR Retimer With Source Photonics at ECOC 2014

SANTA CLARA, CA — (Marketwired) — 09/22/14 — Inphi Corporation (NYSE: IPHI), a leading provider of high-speed, mixed signal semiconductor solutions for the communications, data center and computing markets, today announced that it has successfully demonstrated interoperability of its new iKON CDR retimer with Source Photonics QSFP28 modules. Based on Inphi–s latest CDR Retimer, and together with Source Photonics, the companies will demonstrate next-generation 100G line card PHYs and modules interoperating with one another. The interoperability demonstration will be in Inphi–s booth #410 at ECOC 2014, from September 22-24, 2014 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

This demonstration will showcase Inphi–s new production ready line card IN112525-LC 100G CMOS CDR Retimer IC interoperating with a QSFP28 module from Source Photonics. Inphi recently announced the immediate availability of the first generation of CMOS CDR Retimers from the iKON family. Designed for 28G line cards, the new CDR Retimer delivers the industry–s most aggressive performance metrics on mW/Gbps. It also supports channel loss up to 15-db (CEI-28G-SR) at 14Ghz Nyquist, which is ideally suited for high-density line card applications.

“We are excited about showcasing our product in an ecosystem of 100G modules that will enable line cards with two terabit capacity for next-generation service provider and enterprise networks,” said Siddharth Sheth, vice president, Networking Interconnect, Inphi.

Source Photonics is a leading provider of innovative and reliable technology that enables communications and data connectivity. As a part of this demo, Source Photonics will showcase its 100G-LR4 QSFP28 module. With a typical power dissipation of only 3.5W, the small form factor QSFP28 module is compliant with the 100GBase-LR4 standard.

“We are pleased to be part of this demonstration integrating novel key 100G technologies and components including very compact, low-power optical 100G interfaces such as our QSFP28 and the Inphi CDR retimer,” said Manish Mehta, vice president of Product Line Management for Source Photonics, “Carriers and data center operators now have the tools to take the next step to higher density and lower cost-per-bit.”
