FOLSOM, CA — (Marketwired) — 10/30/14 — , a leading provider of technology solutions that drive enterprise performance, is accepting applications for its annual . Now in its eighth year, the program has awarded nearly $100,000 in aid to more than 60 women across the country.
“Education is the key to a more skilled, productive, and adaptable workforce,” said Jonna Ward, CEO of VIP. “We are honored to continue our commitment to not only easing the financial burdens of women pursuing a career in IT, but to advancing the overall development and representation of women in the field.”
As in past years, WITS 2015 offers multiple scholarships of up to $2,500 per recipient to women pursuing a career in computer science, information technology (IT), management information systems, computer engineering, or another related field. Applicants must be enrolled at, or accepted into, a two or four year college or university in the United States for the 2015 school year. Candidates will be assessed based on the following criteria:
Academic Performance
Major Relevancy and Career Path
Community Service and Extracurricular Activities
Leadership Experience and Qualities
Submissions will also be evaluated based on applicant essays, which define and offer meaningful solutions to specific local or statewide information technology problems.
