CA Technologies, Lingotek Bring Continuous Delivery to Global Technical Content

LEHI, UT — (Marketwired) — 12/04/14 — Mobile, the cloud and data have upended traditional ways of doing business. Agile, continuous delivery and DevOps have stepped in to hasten product development, but one crucial process still hasn–t caught up. Continuous content delivery is the missing limb of the success ecosystem. Currently workers spend countless, non-value add hours working in independent silos, hunting for versions, manually pushing documents between platforms, all while trying to manage the continuous update and flow of multilingual content.

In an on-demand economy where content makes or breaks success, such manual processes are untenable. , SVP of Information Technologies at CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA), decided to take enterprise content management into his own hands — by inventing DocOps, a new process that combines continuous delivery with document management, made possible in part by the integration of Lingotek–s cloud-based Translation Management System (TMS) ().

“Most companies are living with a Technical Content Supply Chain from the Stone Age,” said Turcotte. “DocOps is about creating a supply chain that is at its core collaborative and agile. Content is authored, updated, and delivered continually. As a living and dynamic thing, the DocOps platform enables an improved customer and brand experience, no matter where in the world your customers are.”

Using DocOps and the Lingotek TMS, CA Technologies was able to realize a 20% gain in efficiency. The company decreased non-value-add staff activities while increasing collaboration and quality. Workers can now make informed content decisions based on real-time data.

On December 16, Lingotek and CA will be hosting a that explores how DocOps works, why it–s important and how it can benefit every enterprise. Topics include:

What drove CA to abandon a heavyweight CMS and replace it with a wiki?

How could a wiki possibly meet the needs of technical documentation?

How do writers feel about the new system?

Can other contributors, such as engineers, use the system too?

How quickly and easily can CA handle localization into 20 different languages?

What–s the experience like for customers?

“CA Technologies is one of the most forward-thinking companies we work with when it comes to global document management,” stated Rob Vandenberg, President and CEO of Lingotek. “Lingotek is proud to be a major part of the CA Technologies DocOps solution and looks forward to working with them on our continued projects.”
