Four Army National Guard Installations Trust AtHoc to Protect Personnel and Civilians With Interactive Warning System

SAN MATEO, CA — (Marketwired) — 12/18/14 — ., the leader in network-centric interactive crisis communication systems, today announced that four additional Army National Guard locations throughout the United States will deploy AtHoc interactive communications systems to inform and protect personnel. As part of the Emergency Management Modernization Program managed by Leidos, these installations join in providing communication and accountability for nearly one million members of the military and their families across the world.

The Army National Guard has served the United States in war and peacetime for nearly 400 years, with duties ranging from combat overseas to domestic relief in the event of disaster. With many personnel serving on a part-time basis, rapid and comprehensive communication of information to relevant individuals regardless of location is essential to fulfilling the responsibilities of the National Guard. The latest installations to join in deploying AtHoc include:

Camp Roberts, California Army National Guard

Camp Atterbury, Indiana Army National Guard

Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Mississippi National Guard

Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania Army National Guard

In all, more than 14,000 personnel, their families and civilians will be served by the new AtHoc IWSAlerts system. It will allow base officials to quickly communicate deployment orders via text, phone and desktop notifications, as well as to rapidly notify personnel and civilians of emergency situations. Moreover, it fulfills Department of Defense (DoD) personnel accountability requirements by allowing recipients to respond to notification to acknowledge receipt and provide additional relevant information in the event of a crisis.
