OwnerIQ Selected by IAB as Member of Spider and Bot List

BOSTON, MA — (Marketwired) — 12/22/14 — If you prefer to be sure that human beings see your ads, is one of the companies with which you may want to work. That–s according to the latest “IAB/ABCe International Spiders & Bots List,” which lists industry leaders in spider and bot detection and filtering.

The Interactive Advertising Bureau and the U.K.–s ABC Electronic compile the list with the help of an independent third-party monitoring firm, Im Services. Interested parties may subscribe to the list to see who–s on and who–s not. Because the list is compiled so carefully, it is considered the gold standard.

“The average rate of fraudulent ad clicks is as high as 36%, depending on when it–s measured,” said OwnerIQ CEO Jay Habegger. “We–re pleased that our own platform averaged just 10% during the month of November, and that our filtering capabilities were able to keep the rate below 2% on a number of individual campaigns. Of course we would like that rate to be 0%, but as we strive to reach that destination, we–re pleased that the IAB, ABCe and Im Services recognize the success of our strategy.”

The IAB/ABCe International Spiders and Bots list aims to filter well-behaving automated traffic from billing counts in a consistent manner. The list is updated monthly, with quarterly guiding committee meetings.
