MONTREAL, QUEBEC — (Marketwired) — 01/28/15 — TELUS (TSX: T)(NYSE: TU) has acquired a 20 per cent stake in Alithya, a Quebec-based information technology and consulting service provider with a Canadian and international scope. Drawing on each firm–s respective expertise, the two companies have struck a long-term strategic partnership where each will offer suites of information and communication technology (ICT) services, with a focus on managed infrastructure solutions, to their business customers.

As a result of this partnership, the two companies will consolidate their expertise, with 94 employees from TELUS– Professional Services team joining Alithya in the coming weeks. Alongside Alithya–s team of skilled advisors spread across nine Canadian and three French offices, they will create a single, consolidated team of nearly 600 seasoned consultants. For its part, TELUS will retain those Professional Services team members specializing in the provision of leading-edge expertise on application and managed infrastructure solutions, specifically managed cloud computing, hosting, and portal solutions.
