Alliance Memory Announces Record Year-to-Year Growth for 2014

SAN CARLOS, CA — (Marketwired) — 02/09/15 — Alliance Memory today announced that the company experienced record year-to-year growth in 2014, a feat that it is well-positioned to accomplish again in 2015. With 35 percent growth over 2013, 2014 was the highest grossing year in Alliance Memory–s history, with Q4 being its most profitable quarter. The company continued its success with a record-setting month in January 2015.

David Bagby, president and CEO of Alliance Memory, attributes much of the company–s growth to an increase in its DRAM business.

“A big reason that 2014 was such a break-out year for Alliance Memory was that our product portfolio kept evolving to include more and more DRAM products,” said Bagby. “In fact, our DRAM business grew by an order of magnitude last year. Sales of these new products are exploding and are on track to surpass those of our SRAMs in Q1 this year.”

Notably, Alliance Memory began supplying several 512M synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) devices that Micron is discontinuing, the 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75:C (commercial temperature), 32M x 16 MT48LC32M16A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature), 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75:C (commercial temperature), and 64M x 8 MT48LC64M8A2P-75 IT:C (industrial temperature). Other 2014 additions to Alliance Memory–s DRAM lineup include high-speed CMOS double data rate (DDR), DDR2, and DDR3 synchronous DRAMs (SDRAMs) in a wide range of densities, configurations, package options, and temperature ratings. Mobile low-power SDRAMs were also introduced to increase efficiency and extend battery life in compact portable devices.

In addition to the bolstering of its DRAM lineup, another factor in Alliance Memory–s success was an increased customer base, achieved via the company–s extensive distributor network.

“We–ve worked very hard to differentiate ourselves as a reliable source for legacy devices, and we–ve had the help of some pretty amazing distribution partners in this effort,” continued Bagby. “In particular, Digi-Key and Mouser have gone above and beyond in spreading the word about our DRAM product line and getting these new parts qualified by an ever larger number of customers. In addition, our Country Manager Mars Zhang has developed a very strong distribution network in China that has greatly contributed to our expanding customer base.”

Alliance Memory products provide reliable drop-in, pin-for-pin-compatible replacements for a number of similar solutions in industrial, medical, communications, and telecom products requiring high memory bandwidth — eliminating the need for costly redesigns and part requalification.

Alliance Memory is a worldwide provider of legacy memory products for the communications, computing, consumer electronics, medical, automotive, and industrial markets. The company–s product range includes a full range of asynchronous and synchronous SRAMs, low-power SRAMs, ZMD low-power SRAMs, 3.3 V synchronous DRAMs (SDR), mobile DDRs, and 2.5 V single (DDR1), 1.8 V double (DDR2), and 1.5 V and 1.35 V triple rate (DDR3) synchronous DRAMs. Depending on the family, these products are available with commercial, industrial, and automotive operating temperature ranges and with densities from 64K to 4G. Alliance Memory is a privately held company with headquarters in San Carlos, California, and regional offices in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Sweden, Bulgaria, China, and Southeast Asia.
