RESTON, VA — (Marketwired) — 06/11/15 — Vinton G. Cerf, one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” will give the keynote address at the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, Awards for Chamber Excellence (ACE) Luncheon on . The ACE Awards recognizes outstanding businesses, volunteers and committees that excel through their Chamber involvement and help to make the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce a successful place to do business. The GRCC is also one of the largest regional chambers in the Washington Metro area.
The tentative agenda for the event includes the announcement of the ACE winners. The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce will also transition the 2014-2015 Board of Directors under Karen Cleveland, President & CEO, Cleveland Coaching Group, to the 2015-2016 Board of Directors under Michael Bradshaw, Director of the Cloud Platform in the East Region at Google.
Vinton Cerf, Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google and widely known as one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” is also the co-creator of TCP/IP, the communication protocol that powers nearly all communication on the Internet. Over his career, he has helped shape the technology that led to the revolutionary impact of the Internet on the lives of billions. Mr. Cerf is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the National Medal of Technology. As Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, Mr. Cerf contributes to global policy development, standardization and continued spread of the Internet. His speech will address innovation, jobs and the evolving role of the internet.
