When startups get off to a flying start – taking off with the Oracle Cloud

Along with a host of other issues, emerging startups also have to make a fundamental decision about their IT systems at a relatively early stage of their business–s success. The IT should grow with the company. It needs to be modern and flexible, so that new business areas, products and offices can be quickly and cost-effectively integrated into existing processes and systems. One of the main requirements is the provision of meaningful KPIs and the introduction of structured reporting. At the same time, costs have to be contained, and a separate IT department for maintenance and support is not usually available in the period immediately following a company–s launch.

There are practical examples of successful resolutions to this conflict within the startup scene. FlixBus CEO and Founder, Daniel Krauss, together with the FlixBus Senior Finance Manager, Jonas Schweighart, told delegates about the decision to introduce a European ERP system in their organization. SoundCloud Project Manager Finance, Laura Henkel, told participants how the SoundCloud back office was prepared for further rapid growth and internationalization. Both firms have introduced an Oracle ERP cloud software solution in 2015, together with the PRIMUS DELPHI GROUP.

PDG CEO, Karsten Roigk, believes the event was a success:
“The feedback from attendees was generally very good. There were stimulating discussions and excellent debates. Our aim was to present Oracle Cloud to visitors from the startup sector as an IT strategy for their specific needs, while providing real assistance with decision-making. According to the participants, that–s exactly what we achieved.”
