ThousandEyes Introduces Most Complete Network Visibility for the Internet-Centric Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (Marketwired) — 08/10/16 — , the Network Intelligence company that delivers visibility into every network, today announced the release of ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent, extending Network Intelligence to end users and network access infrastructures. ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent provides the only way to measure end-user experience and network behavior for every network that employees use to access critical services. With this new release, ThousandEyes provides the most complete understanding of end-to-end application and service delivery for internet-centric enterprises.

“Work-at-home is an exciting and challenging new dynamic for our workforce at AIM Specialty Health. We are delivering services over networks that we no longer control. Being able to understand, with great fidelity, where those users are and how they–re connecting to our organization is crucial to ensuring the quality of their connection,” said Ivan Shepherd, senior manager of technology at AIM Specialty Health. “ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent allows us to see the web transactions that individual users are conducting. We can take this data set, account for the issues that our users are facing, and then improve the end-user experience. It–s a game changer being able to see the quality of connections outside your organization. In a world where we are starting to face the reality of Bring Your Own Network, ThousandEyes is a powerful, actionable and easy-to-use platform.”

Most organizations now rely on the internet and cloud as a critical part of their technology infrastructure. However, with the advantages of scale, flexibility and cost come issues related to complexity, reliability, and vulnerability. Applications are more distributed than ever, and users want to be able to access the corporate network from anywhere. ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent extends Network Intelligence to employee laptops and desktops, as well as the enterprise network access infrastructure. It enables IT teams to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve end-user performance issues for any application, whether deployed on-premises or in the cloud.

In the Gartner report, Mobility and Cloud Office Will Transform the End-User Computing Team by Terrence Cosgrove, published on April 15, 2016, it states that, “As applications increasingly move to the cloud, delivered as SaaS offerings, organizations lose significant visibility of the availability and performance of their applications. The endpoint becomes a privileged vantage point from which to monitor the performance of SaaS providers. Organizations will increasingly need the ability to pinpoint if a problem is on the vendor side, with the public/private network infrastructure, or on the customer/enterprise side.”

In another Gartner report, Cloud Office Applications Require Bimodal IT Operations also by Cosgrove, published on Oct. 7, 2015, it states, “Current cloud office products provide rudimentary uptime/downtime reporting and service restoration messaging. As applications become more modular and dependent on external IT infrastructure, the only place to infer the end-user–s experience is from the end-user–s device.”

“Our customers already rely on ThousandEyes to understand how network behavior impacts application delivery, from the internet to the corporate network. As their workforce becomes more distributed and mobile, these insights need to extend all the way to the end user,” said Mohit Lad, CEO and co-founder of ThousandEyes. “Our Endpoint Agent technology presents a comprehensive view of user experience together with underlying network dependencies. It–s built for IT teams to gain a complete understanding of application behavior and network performance from every user to every application.”

“ThousandEyes Endpoint Agents automatically discover the network environment used by each user, regardless of location, whether at home, in a coffee shop or in the office,” said Ricardo Oliveira, CTO and co-founder of ThousandEyes. “By aggregating data from deployed Endpoint Agents, ThousandEyes builds a map of the enterprise network infrastructure, including wireless access points, gateways, proxies and VPN termination points, and monitors the health of this infrastructure over time.”

ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent is available now as a Preview release for a limited time.
