This DIY product simplifies traditional security systems every step of the way from the easy installation of its battery-powered wireless camera/smoke detector to its intuitive mobile app.
At one-fifth the price of traditional security, the easy-to-install ceiling-mounted Sensor has a sleek design that includes a camera, smoke detector, motion detector and siren. When the Sensor detects motion or smoke, it will automatically send three high-definition images to the user–s smartphone via the Novi app.
“Unlike other security systems, we have put the user in total control of the response,” said Tyler Crawford, CEO of Novi Security. “When they receive an alert, the user chooses what happens next. They can call the police, sound the siren, request additional images, or disarm the system. One of the key elements that set the Novi Security solution apart is that it is battery powered. Since the camera takes photos, it needs much less bandwidth and power compared to a standard network camera. As such, it runs on batteries that can last up to a year under normal use.
Novi has three parts to the system.
The Sensor is the battery-powered eyes of the system. Disguised as a smoke detector, its 170 degree HD camera captures photos every time motion or smoke is detected and can drive intruders off with a 90dB Siren.
The Relay Station is the brain of the system. It plugs into the user–s home router and sends images from the sensor to their smart phone.
The third component is the Novi app, which is the command center. With the free app, users receive photos and decide what action to take. They can call the authorities, sound the alarm manually or dismiss the alert if all is well. The Novi app is available for Android, iOS and Windows.
For those with pets, users can adjust Novi–s motion sensing capability to ensure they won–t set off the device.
