Communic Indonesia to host new hub for booming startup scene

JAKARTA, Indonesia: Innovative new companies from South East Asia’s thriving startup scene will be given a chance to showcase their latest disruptive technologies after Communic Indonesia announced the launch of a dedicated Startup Hotspot at this year’s event.

The announcement comes following the launch of the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Informatics’ 1,000 Startup Movement, which aims to create 1,000 high-quality digital startups in the country by 2020. The new hub at the event will present these companies with the opportunity to reach out to potential partners and network with like-minded entrepreneurs and innovators.

Together with the new area, the show will bring together international solution providers, industry thought-leaders and key local players for a three-day exhibition and conference. Alongside returning exhibitors such as Sangoma, Percon and Electrolink, the British Chambers of Commerce will be in attendance with a 27sqm booth featuring companies from the UK’s ICT sector, while Taiwan will also have its own national pavilion for the first time.

“We are delighted to be exhibiting at one of South East Asia’s fastest-growing technology shows, giving us a great opportunity to spread the exciting work that is taking place in the British ICT industry,” said Paul North, ASEAN Trade Adviser at the British Chambers of Commerce. “British business is at a crucial juncture in terms of its relationships around the world and Communic Indonesia gives us a chance to promote the very best of the industry to a broad audience.”

Among the key talking points on the show’s agenda are the evolution of mobile technologies towards 5G, the explosive growth of the Internet of Things and the role of satellite connectivity in the region.

“From new and returning exhibitors to the unprecedented interest from startups, Communic Indonesia has gone from strength to strength in its second year,” said Show Director Victor Wong. “The launch of the Startup Hotspot is a great indicator of the momentum behind innovation in Indonesia and the wider South East Asian region. The hub will spur the exchange of ideas and expertise among the startup community and give these exciting new companies a platform to share their new technologies.”

Communic Indonesia 2017 takes place at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran, in Jarkarta, from Wednesday, October 25 to Friday, October 27. For more information, please visit: http://www.communicindonesia.com or https://www.facebook.com/communicindonesia/?fref=ts.
