New Mobile Review confirms Singapore operators are among the best in global comparison




P3, the international industry-leader in mobile network benchmarking, has announced the results of the first Mobile Review for Singapore evaluating the three mobile networks Singtel, StarHub and M1. Applying the P3 methodology, which is today the acknowledged industry-standard in more than 80 countries, P3 and its partner, the renowned connect magazine, have tested the mobile networks in the city-state of Singapore conducting a drive test as well as a crowd based analysis. The Mobile Review reveals new detailed insights into the performance of Singapore operators and indicates where it differs in detail while allowing to compare the Singapore networks with those of leading world capitals ? like Berlin, Cape Town, Jakarta, London and Sydney. In Australia, the fifth P3 connect Mobile Benchmark ranking the Australian mobile networks will be published in December 2018.

?Singapore mobile operators are among the best in global comparison with very smart results. Our Review confirms that all three Singapore operators deliver high quality while Singtel is showing a slight advantage over its competitors. With our crowd based benchmarking, we will start assessing the fixed broadband networks in Singapore as well?, says Hakan Ekmen, CEO of P3 communications.

In order to assess the data performance in the Singapore networks, P3?s holistic network testing approach combines a data-centric drivetest – driving a total of 2,100 kilometres, covering 99.5 per cent of Singapore?s population – with a sophisticated crowdsourcing analysis ? which is based on 344 million samples collected in two consecutive 3-month-periods from April to June and July to September 2018. The results reveal the specific strengths of each operator and provide them with a full 360-degree view of their networks. The results confirm that all three Singapore operators deliver a high quality with Singtel showing a slight advantage over its competitors.

Comparing the Singapore results with those achieved in Berlin, Cape Town, Jakarta, London and Sidney confirms that the Singapore operators deliver considerably high performance. The data rates provided by them are only matched by Australian operators Telstra, Optus and Vodafone in Sydney.
