There are many opportunities and ways to sell over the Internet, so it is not easy to choose the one that will be most suitable for your business. So I decided to choose and present 5 of the most effective.

How to sell over the Internet

In Internet selling, as in direct selling, the right elements must be met. A person who wants to buy a product from you is still the same customer who can come to your stationary store.

The difference that occurs when selling online is how you acquire the customer. When you decide to sell online you will also have different distribution channels to choose from.

Depending on the product you have for sale the choice of channel may be different. Below I will present those sales channels, which I consider to be the most important at the moment.

Do you want to have a professional online store? Check out the offer of shopify agency (https://brandactive.co/).

We offer not only assistance with implementations and subsequent regular operations, but also high-quality software, expertise and tools. Here are some useful links:

Your own online store

The first place where you can and should sell your products and services is your own online store. By having the ability to sell through your own online store you become more credible. You remain fully independent from other portals or intermediaries.

In addition, having your own online store you can easily create your own brand of product. In the event that for some reason other places of sale, portals, auctions, restrict access or become less attractive, you still have your own store, where your articles are for sale.

There is also a very high probability that a satisfied customer will make another purchase from your store. Every returning customer is practically pure profit. You save a very large amount of money that you have to spend on acquiring a new customer.

But if you have a good product at a good price – trading on the Internet is the best idea for development today. Relatively low costs of entry (you do not pay for premises, and even – in the case of dropshipping sales model – you do not need to have a warehouse or money for goods) make it worth trying without exposing yourself to huge expenses at the beginning (although you need to have money for advertising and marketing). Many people treat it as an additional occupation, which over time can turn into their main source of income.

What can’t (be) sold?

There are things that cannot be sold on the Internet, because the law forbids it. In the first place here is alcohol, but excluded from online trading are also medicines (only pharmacies with a stationary outlet can sell them) and human products (e.g. replacement milk or… hair).

You cannot offer to write scientific papers (master’s or other), personal databases, email accounts and others. Also be careful with militaries. Weapons (forbidden in the Internet) include crossbows, knuckle dusters and other items considered as weapons in the Act on Weapons and Ammunition.

You also cannot sell concert or theater tickets for a price higher than its face value on the Internet. Websites offering tickets operate on a commission basis, which is legal, but those who sell e.g. concert tickets at double the price risk being fined.

It is also forbidden to sell photocopied or scanned books, foreign currencies in circulation, holograms for identification cards, cab licenses, housing and sanitary books, vehicle registration documents and vehicle cards, items containing ivory elements, vehicles without valid documents, fuels, e-books (by a person who is not an official distributor), shares in companies, vouchers, coupons and discount cards, counterfeits, dangerous chemicals, everyday items for firewood, and even mushrooms without proper certification.
