ipoque Introduces Industry’s Smallest Fully-Featured DPI Bandwidth Management Solution

Such conditions are usually found in hotels that provide WiFi coverage, Internet cafes, company branch offices and even ships with satellite Internet access. The integrated quality-of-service (QoS) management allows prioritization of business-critical applications while limiting the impact of bandwidth-intensive applications on the overall network performance. For example, bandwidth reservations and a higher priority can be assigned to Voice over IP (VoIP) calls using applications such as Skype. PRX-20 guarantees call quality even if large data exchanges through Web browsing, e-mail transfers or P2P file sharing take place at the same time.

PRX-20 is available fully licensed at a fixed price of US$1,760. While ipoque-s larger appliances come as a base unit plus a number of protocol, feature and bandwidth modules – each with its own price tag, PRX-20 already includes all available options.

“PRX-20 has three advantages that together are unmatched: the reliable detection engine, the small size and the extremely competitive price,” says Michael Herbst, sales director of ipoque.

Key Features:
* 20 Mbits/s throughput
* 100,000 concurrent flows
* 1 Fast Ethernet link with 100Base-T interfaces
* Policy management for up to 256 subscribers
* Energy-efficient with less than 5 watts power consumption

About PRX Traffic Manager
PRX Traffic Manager is a comprehensive and cost-effective bandwidth management solution enabling network operators to monitor and control network traffic per application and per subscriber. PRX Traffic Manager detects applications with a combination of layer-7 deep packet inspection (DPI) and behavioral traffic analysis. All major protocols including peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P), instant messaging (IM), media streaming and Internet telephony (VoIP) are supported. The integrated quality-of-service (QoS) management allows prioritization, shaping and blocking of classified traffic. Extensive accounting features provide in-depth application- and subscriber-aware network visibility.
